Roadshow Group Breaks FAQs

What is a Group Break?

A group of people share a box or case of cards by dividing up the product in a pre-determined method. It’s a great way to pull just the teams or players you are looking for.

How do I join a break?

Visit our group breaks page and choose the break that interests you, grab a team or a spot in a random team break!

When does my break happen?

Typically we will wait for a break to “sell out” before we open live. Many of the breaks will fill during the live broadcast and will break once filled. Breaks usually last for several hours, depending on the number of breaks occurring.  Once you buy into a break, we will typically email when we will be breaking.

When do I get my cards?

Cards will be sleeved and sorted within 3-5 days of the break.  We will combine your breaks and ship breaks once a week. Remember, there are usually several cases worth of cards being sorted and shipped at any time! Shipping is free when you participate in our group breaks.

What cards do I get?

All hits, jerseys, patches, autographs, rookies, inserts and numbered cards that come out for your team will be shipped to you.  No base veteran cards will be shipped unless otherwise noted.

What team the card goes to….

The card will go to the team that the card states the player is on.  For example, if the card says “Traded to Chiefs” then the card goes to the Chiefs, despite what jersey the player is wearing.  If the card has a team/city logo or name on the card, the card will go to that team/city despite what jersey the player is wearing.  If there are neither of these on the card, then the default will be what jersey the player is wearing.

Non-Licensed Product

Occasionally, we break products that are not licensed by a company and that do not have teams or cities listed on the cards. The following rules apply if the card has no professional city or team on it:

  • If the card is of a player who is currently playing on a professional team, the card will go to that team.
  • If the card is of a retired player, the card will go the team he had the longest tenure with. If the player happened to be on multiple teams for the same amount of time, he will go to the team that he played the most games with. If the player was on multiple teams, played the same amount of years and played the same amount of games, the card will be randomized between those teams.
  • If the card is of an athlete/coach/etc. that never played for a professional team, the card will be randomized between hitless teams.

What if I don’t get any cards from my break?

There is a possibility that you may receive nothing in a group break. And there’s always a chance that you may receive a trading card worth many times the cost of the initial buy in. There are no refunds if you don’t receive any cards from your break.

Where can I watch the break and where do I see what teams I have? Is there a way to interact with other collectors during the break?

You can watch it right from our site! Just click Watch Live and you will see the live feed as well as be able to interact with others in the chatbox. Please make sure any comments posted are appropriate and will not offend others in the break

I missed the live break, how can I watch it?

All breaks can be viewed on the Roadshow Breaks YouTube Channel

Other Group Break Rules:

  • During the hosted breaks, there will be plenty of time to trade teams amongst each other or trade for the teams that are out of the break.
  • You can also sell your team before the break begins to another person, as long as you can both come to an agreement with the deal.
  • Both trades and sales must be confirmed to the group break host.
  • When a card gets pulled that has multiple teams on it, it gets randomized at the end of the break between the teams on the card that are in the break.
  • If a card has multiple teams/players on the card it will be randomized between all the teams on the card that are in the break.

Can I triple stamp a double stamp?

No, You can’t triple stamp a double stamp!  Even if the double stamp has no erases.

What different types of breaks do you do?

These are the standard formats and rules that we use for our group breaks:

Pick Your Team

  • After all spots are full for the break, names and teams will be shown prior to starting.
  • All hits, jerseys, patches, autographs, rookies, inserts and numbered cards that come out of your team will be shipped to you.

Random Team

  • After all spots are full for the break, names and teams are entered into a list randomizer.
  • The lists will be randomized depending on the roll of a die. Once the lists have been randomized, both lists are copied on to a spreadsheet and matched by number.
  • Your name will be on the left column and your team will be on the right column.
  • All hits, jerseys, patches, autographs, rookies, inserts and numbered cards that come out for your team will be shipped to you.
  • If the break being done has teams that have been taken out before the random is done, anything that comes out for those teams will be randomized off to teams that go hitless.

Snake Draft

  • After number of spots are determined and all spots are full for the break, names are entered into a list randomizer.
  • The list will be randomized depending on the roll of a die. Once the lists have been randomized, the list is copied on to a spreadsheet.
  • Your name will be on the left column in the order in which you will draft your teams. The draft will be done snake draft style (Example: #1 – #15 then #15 – #1).
  • All hits, jerseys, patches, autographs, rookies, inserts and numbered cards that come out for your team will be shipped to you.
  • If the break being done has teams that have been taken out before the random is done, anything that comes out for those teams will be randomized off to teams that go hitless.

By The Hit Draft

  • After the number of spots are determined and all spots are full for the break, names are entered into a list randomizer.
  • The list will be randomized depending on the roll of a die. Once the lists have been randomized, the list is copied on to a spreadsheet.
  • Your name will be on the left column in the order in which you will draft your hits. The draft will be done snake draft style (Example: #1 – #15 then #15 – #1).
  • All the hits or cards you draft, jerseys, patches, autographs, rookies, inserts and numbered cards will be shipped to you.
  • Any leftover cards that are not drafted will be randomized to everyone who participated in the break.
